Q. What specific product do you use for the following: Interior, Exterior, Roof and Steel Work?

A. Interior - There are a number of options and it really depends on what type of surface you are painting and what effect you are looking to replicate. Many of our products are suited to both external and internal application. Ask for advice from your local retailer to find out which product is right for you.

As a general guide a kitchen or a bathroom would usually have a gloss finish provided by an enamel based product. If you were looking to paint a bedroom you may choose an Acrylic based product such as Velvet Silk to give a semi-gloss finish.

A. Exterior - Exterior products are designed to withstand the elements. We recommended you seek the advice of your local retailer but products that suit exterior applications include Texture Coat, Cover All, Super Acrylic PVA and Mid-sheen Acrylic amongst others. Please refer to the product pages for detailed descriptions of all the products.

A. Roof - This depends whether you are painting a roof or an internal ceiling. In the case of a ceiling, you would want a smooth matt finish such as that provided by Medal Ceiling paint. In the case of an external roof, you would require a product that is designed to stand the sun and other elements. Acrylic roof paint has a sheen finish and has been specifically developed for durability. Refer to the product pages for detailed descriptions of all the products.

A. Steel Work - As per all surfaces it depends on the type of finish you are looking for but High Gloss Enamel would provide the perfect gloss finish.

Q. Can Medal be used over other paints?

A. Yes - Medal Paints has an extensive range that covers all applications and needs. It can be used over products from companies such as Dulux and Plascon. Please refer to the products pages for additional product information.

Q. Where can I purchase your products?

Q. Can I use your Waterproofing products to solve my pool problems?

A. - Medal has developed a pool paint as a surface coating although we recommend using a pool contractor to address your specific issues.

Q. Do you supply "special colours" on request?

A. - Yes we can make any colour although there may be a premium if we have not mixed the colours before.

Q. Do you do "colour matching" on request?

A. - Yes, we can match any colour.

Q. Can I apply a water-based coating over an enamel based surface?

A. - No, the surface needs to be adequately prepared by sandpapering.

Q. How do I solve "moist areas" on wall surfaces?

A. - Damp areas need to be properly assessed and prepared prior to painting. Medal Paints manufactures a range of waterproofing solutions. For more information refer to the products section or contact the Medal Customer Care line on 0860 063 325.

Q. Can I "touch up" a small section of a wall surface (Colour variation)?

A. - No, it is better not to do touch up's as you may have slight colour variations. Time and the elements do fade colours to a certain extent.

Q. Do you supply products that can withstand temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius?

A. - No.

Q. Can I use a product that has a foul smell?

A. - No this means that the paint has gone off. Please contact the Medal Paints Customer Care in this event.

Q. Will I be able to purchase your product directly from your factory?

A. - No we are a manufacturer and sell our products through retailers and hardware stores. If you wish to stock our products in your stores please contact our head office.
