In the run up to Christmas 2007, Medal Paints held a competition to Win a home make over worth R50 000 as well as a Tata Indica. Entries closed on the 28th of February 2008 and Medal Paints received over 3 000 entries over the period. The competition required shoppers to sms their favourite Medal Paints colour to the competition line.
The winner, Mr Pheneas Ndlovu, who originally purchased his paint from Mackson's Hardware in Estcourt was named as the official winner. A painter by trade, he chose to receive R50 000 worth of paint for his business. He was handed the car on Friday the 23rd of May 2008 at the Pietermaritzburg branch of Tata. He was greeted with a warm welcome from the Tata and Medal teams and drove away smiling in his brand new Tata Indica TDi.
